“We couldn’t be more grateful”

As a community-owned greengrocer, Dig In have a group of volunteers dedicated to marketing and promoting the shop through in-person events and online.

Process

We held group brainstorming sessions to plan out a website update. They were looking for a website which reflected their focus on the community, as well as promoting the excellent range of local and organic produce available in the shop.

The next step was to build a staging site that would allow all of the changes to be fully implemented and reviewed by the communications group, as well as the management committee, before the new website was live.

Various iterations of the site were developed, reviewed, and improved upon, until the final design was completed.

The finished product

The new Dig In website has been popular with staff, customers and volunteers alike. New features include:

  • a fully-responsive, modern design with a clean look and a greater focus on images
  • a new section focused on recipes to help the communications team promote seasonal produce
  • new menus for the static and blog pages, tailored to visitors’ preferences.

A bespoke training session really helped the volunteers to get a handle on the tools and the step-by-step process for adding new content and keeping the site in order in the long haul. They recently added a brief interview about the website project, initially published in their e-newsletter.
